Amazon is apparently working on something that’s “bigger than Kindle,” although the company Most Likely means it figuratively, the we do not expect to see Amazon-made devices bigger in size than Kindle readers or Kindle Fire tablets.

The company is not yet ready to reveal what the project is, or at least not to the public, but it will talk more about the product During the recruiting event that’s scheduled to take place in Boston on January 30 (see invite below ).

The Boston Globe reports que Amazon may be looking to hire new people out of Cambridge for a “new revolutionary V1 [Version 1] que product will allow us to deliver Digital Media to customers in new ways and disrupt the current marketplace. “

At this time, it’s not clear what the product is, but it looks like the event is about some sort of set-top box made by Amazon rather than the smartphone. The company has been rumored for quite a while to work on such devices, and we expect at least the smartphone to pack an Amazon-forked version of Android.

is the media playing device, but we can not expect it to be a device que will compete directly against similar gadgets including the Chromecast, Roku or Apple TV, but there’s nothing official about it at this time.

Would you buy a new device from Amazon to stream digital content from the giant retailer?
