New Kindle at Incredible Connection for R1,999 – MyBroadband

Amazon announced the availability of its new Kindle at Incredible Connections stores on Thursday, 6 November 2014, at a suggested retail price of R1,999.

"The new Kindle Touch is a great addition to the Kindle range. The smaller size and touch screen makes reading a real pleasure," said Michelle Da Fonseca, a buyer for Incredible Connection and HiFi Corp. "We are looking forward to launching the new addition to the Kindle family at Incredible Connection."

The new Kindle's features include:

Kindle FreeTime: Hand-select books for your kids to read, and hand out achievement badges when they hit reading milestones. A progress report keeps parents updated on total time their kids spend reading, number of words looked up, badges earned, and books finished. This will be available later this year as part of a free, over-the-air software update.

Word Wise: For readers learning English and kids learning to read, Word Wise, which Amazon said is available on many English-language titles, makes it easier to understand challenging vocabulary. Short definitions automatically appear above difficult words so you can keep reading without having to stop and look up a word. This will be available later this year as part of a free, over-the-air software update.

Enhanced Search: Combines previews results from your library and the Kindle Store on the same page. This will be available later this year as part of a free, over-the-air software update.

Other features such as a long battery life, Whispersync, Kindle archive, Smart Lookup, Time to Read predictions, Kindle Page Flip, Vocabulary Builder, and Facebook and Twitter integration are also available on the new Kindle. All of this is displayed on a 6-inch screen.

These features will also be available on Kindle Paperwhite.
