The American online store Amazon has had great success with their ebook readers since the Kindle was first launched in 2007. Kindle is based on a special system that allows you within a few seconds, you can buy and download a book from the online store. The board was an instant success for those who prefer to read their books in the original language. Later that year, Kindle localized in both the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Here in Norway, however, the Kindle had to fight against the current. The reason has obviously been that there has been precious little of Norwegian or Norwegian translated literature to find on Amazon. Another reason is the cumbersome Norwegian literature, politics who would have wanted to sell their own tablets and payment systems.

Almost as big as the iPad

Kindle Fire was launched in the U.S. in 2011 and appeared more like a hybrid of the old Kindle and a regular tablet. Kindle Fire runs its own version of Google’s Android operating system. Americans have been able to benefit from the Amazon Appstore, streaming movies and TV as well as a small selection of games and apps.

Kindle Fire is now available from 13 June, writes the Norwegian newspaper dinside.no today. The board will be launched in this country called Kindle Fire HD and will be getting both 7 and 8.9-inch version.
